Search and rescue remains an important service provided by CAP members. CAP
flies 95 percent of all federal inland SAR missions, as directed by the Air
Force Rescue Coordination Center (AFRCC) at Tyndall AFB, FL. Members of CAP
volunteer their time to locate missing aircraft, ELT's and missing people 24/7
365 days a year.
On
average, each year CAP members fly more than 100,000 hours in operational
missions and save about 100 lives. The most recent search in the news was
the Steve Fosset mission but countless others occurred during and since that
mission. See our News link to view the most recent missions that our
squadron participated in.
