CAP Emergency Services supports all levels of government from the local community to national level emergencies.  CAP members respond to missing persons and aircraft searches to disaster relief missions from small tornados to hurricane Katrina and even immediately after the attacks of September 11th.  CAP is a large part of the Homeland Defense team.  We integrate with local, state and federal agencies to be prepared to respond when the need arises.

Virginia Wing has responded to calls to support Department of Emergency Services request for photo reconnaissance of damage during last years hurricane season.  CAP was able to provide near real time photos to state decision makers to help them asses damage.  CAP's national radio network can support communities in communicating key information in times of emergency.  CAP personnel are trained and able to respond prepared to handle many situations.

Key Benefits

  • Large trained group of personnel.
  • Low or no cost to jurisdiction being supported.
  • CAP structure means support from outside the jurisdiction can be called in to assist.
