CAP supports many aspects of the Homeland Defense mission.  The Congress has authorize CAP to fly certain missions in support of counter narcotics missions.  CAP also assist the USAF in preparing to turn away small aircraft during simulations.  These critical training events prepare USAF pilots to face the challenge of engaging and identifying a small light aircraft with their fighters.
