The Civil Air Patrol is

All CAP personnel and assets should make all preparations for the arrival of Hanna. Be prepared for activation in support of Homeland Security and Disaster Relief missions as assigned by the state. What's New-Prince William Squadron personnel supported the Great Dismal Swamp Fire Mission. Details to follow... -Members of Prince William Squadron assisted in locating a missing aircraft at Warrenton Airport. Click here for the Press Release. -Members participated in the Urban Direction Finding (UDF) course held at Culpepper. They learned to assist in finding ELT's on airports and open terrain. Our MissionOur missions include emergency services (including airborne search and rescue), aerospace education, and a cadet program that provides discipline, citizenship, leadership and an introduction to military customs and courtesies to young people ages twelve through seventeen. We are also acquiring additional responsibilities in the area of homeland security. Prince William Composite Squadron is the largest and most active squadron in Virginia! We are currently seeking flight, ground, and office personnel as senior members, and highly motivated young people for our busy Cadet Program.
Squadron ProfilePrince William Squadron and the rest of Civil Air Patrol support the nation by providing trained individuals from the community to support many missions. We provide a low cost alternative to military assets while maintaining a high level of readiness. Civil Air Patrol conducts 95% of all inland search and rescue missions for the United States Air Force. Our 56,000 members of CAP are ready to serve their community, state and nation. Members of Prince William Squadron come from all walks of life. We have active and retired military, active and retired airline pilots, retired police to stay at home mothers. We are made strong by the varied backgrounds of our membership. Through their volunteerism we are able to accomplish many missions.
Meeting InformationMeetings are held every Tuesday night for cadets and the 2nd-4th Tuesdays for Officers (Seniors) from 7pm to 9pm. Meetings are at the National Guard Armory in front of the Prince William Fairgrounds on Rt. 234 in Manassas, VA. PLEASE remember to check the news for any information regarding closure of Prince William County Schools during times of inclement weather. Squadron Policy is to cancel meetings if PW Schools cancel daily or evening activities. Please go to the Prince William County Schools page for info on subscribing to their closings alert system.
