Special Message from LTC Carl Lyon in regards to the death of Belton Gardner.

Arrangements:

Mr. Gardner passed away April 1 of a long bout with cancer.
The family welcomes guests on Sunday, 6 April from 2 to 5 pm at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Ave., Vienna, Va 22180. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 7 at 11 am at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston, Va 20191. Burial will immediately follow at Fairfax Memorial Park at 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Va. 22032.

There will be a "celebration of Life" on April 27 at Dulles Aviation, Manassas Regional Airport. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in memory of Mr. Gardner to the Capital Hospice, capitalhospice.org or to the Life with Cancer Organization at cancer.org.

  The Prince William Composite Squadron would like to offer its deepest sympathies to the Gardner family and all of the extended Dulles Aviation family for the loss of Belton Gardner.  Belton was a great supporter of the Prince William Squadron's operations through his FBO.


What's New

-Members of Prince William Squadron assisted in locating a missing aircraft at Warrenton Airport.  Click here for the Press Release.

-Members participated in the Urban Direction Finding (UDF) course held at Culpepper.  They learned to assist in finding ELT's on airports and open terrain.  See the newspaper article from the Star-Exponent.


Our Mission

Our missions include emergency services (including airborne search and rescue), aerospace education, and a cadet program that provides discipline, citizenship, leadership and an introduction to military customs and courtesies to young people ages twelve through seventeen. We are also acquiring additional responsibilities in the area of homeland security.  Prince William Composite Squadron is the largest and most active squadron in Virginia!  We are currently seeking flight, ground, and office personnel as senior members, and highly motivated young people for our busy Cadet Program.


Squadron Profile

Prince William Squadron and the rest of Civil Air Patrol support the nation by providing trained individuals from the community to support many missions.  We provide a low cost alternative to military assets while maintaining a high level of readiness.  Civil Air Patrol conducts 95% of all inland search and rescue missions for the United States Air Force.  Our 56,000 members of CAP are ready to serve their community, state and nation.

Members of Prince William Squadron come from all walks of life.  We have active and retired military, active and retired airline pilots, retired police to stay at home mothers.  We are made strong by the varied backgrounds of our membership.  Through their volunteerism we are able to accomplish many missions.


Meeting Information

Meetings are held every Tuesday night  for cadets and the 2nd-4th Tuesdays for Officers (Seniors) from  7pm to 9pm.  Meetings are at the National Guard Armory in front of the Prince William Fairgrounds on Rt. 234 in Manassas, VA.

PLEASE remember to check the news for any information regarding closure of Prince William County Schools during times of inclement weather.  Squadron Policy is to cancel meetings if PW Schools cancel daily or evening activities.  Please go to the Prince William County Schools page for info on subscribing to their closings alert system.
