 Cadet Advisory Council
The goal and purpose of the CAC is to provide an organization where cadets gain leadership experience at higher organizational levels. The CAC is also to aid the commander and director of cadet programs in monitoring and implementing the Cadet Program.

Cadet Competition

The goal of the competition is to increase cadet training in leadership, aerospace education, physical fitness, and teamwork, as well as to build a sense of belonging to a larger organization. Events included in-ranks inspection and various forms of military drill, but cadets were also challenged with written exams and panel quizzes on aerospace knowledge and CAP history, and physical training contests of running and volleyball.

CAP Professional Development Conferences
Annual CAP conferences are held at the Wing, Region, and National levels. The CAC and DCP attempt to provide a rigorous cadet agenda at the Wing and Region conferences for cadets to participate in. These include seminars, competitions, awards presentations, CAC meetings/elections, and an opportunity to interact with cadets from different locations.

Summer Encampment
CAP encampments are an important part of the cadet program. Cadets continue to learn about the cadet program, the role of aerospace today, and further develop their leadership skills. Cadets will participate in physical activities such as the obstacle course and physical fitness training. Encampment will challenge each cadet’s physical and mental abilities, but not beyond what a normal cadet can endure without due strain. Cadets will rise early and have a very full day of training. Encampments are one of the best leadership developing events CAP offers.

 IACE Program
International Cadet Exchange (IACE) provides selected youth and adults an opportunity to serve as ambassadors to participating countries (learn more)

Physical Fitness Challenge (PFC)
The goal of the PFC is to have fun (through friendly competition) while becoming more physically active. The PFC improves the health and physical condition of your body, improves cadet physical fitness test passing percentage, and also develops a lifetime habit of physical fitness.

 Practical Cadet Leadership Course (PCLC)
PCLC continues developing a cadets leadership and command skills by placing them in the field in situation where they must apply the leadership and command theories learned in the classroom at the squadron to situations designed to challenge each cadet and their team.  The results of each exercise are reviewed by experienced senior and cadet officers to help the team learn from their decisions.

Virginia Wing Leadership Development Training Program (LDTP)
More information to follow on this new wing initiative. Schools will be setup for each phase of the cadet program that will include a full weekend of training. Teaching Leaders of Cadets (TLC) course will be administered at the same time.
